How can I make draggable window borders thicker without changing the appearance?

trick

When you want to resize a window in gnome (and other systems), you can click and hold on the window border, then drag it. The problem is (correct me if I'm wrong here) that the draggable border is only a few pixels thick in gnome. This tends to be a bit frustrating and causes my wrists to hurt from using the mouse due to the need to move the mouse very carefully.

How can I change the thickness of the area that I can click to resize the window? I don't want to add to the appearance of the window border, I'm not talking about candy here. I would like to fine-tune this functionality, where I can resize the window by dragging its borders.

Is there some setting to change this?

Richard Holloway

you can not

It's a three-year-old bug with no solution.

You either have to use a different theme, or do as I did, give up trying and use the keys to resize the window.

Mini method:

Alt+ F8Start resizing. Use the arrow keys to resize.

Pressing enter will save the resize, and escaping will get you back.
