Visual Studio: Git Team Explorer doesn't show any changes

tip

When I add the project to source control (GIT) for the first time, it shows all the files and everything is pretty peach. I can keep working for about 30 minutes to 1 hour with all changes showing up (any file changes I make).

But after some time it shows that no file is edited no matter how many changes I make. I just don't get it...I looked at the .gitignore file and I don't see any file type I'm using, so I don't understand what's going on.

I'm working on a multi-tier MVC application, so I'm using a lot of C#, a bunch of .cshtml, etc.

tip? Google can't find anything. Here is the .gitignore file...I had the same problem as this guy...and he didn't have an answer!

When you save a changed file, its status automatically reverts to unchanged/committed (blue lock)

After restarting the computer, it will be fixed automatically. Restarting Visual Studio wasn't enough, but after restarting the whole system, the changes now show up in Team Explorer.
