From VMWare to VirtualBox - no network

username

I used ovftool to convert a VMWare Windows Server 2003 image to OVF. Then I imported it into VirtualBox - works fine, except there is no network connection. I tried NAT, bridged adapter and host only. But in all 3 cases I don't have any network connection - when running ipconfig it returns an empty output.

what do I need to do?

Gerald B

Based on ipconfig not reporting network adapters,

  • Remove VMware Tools (if installed) and install the VirtualBox Guest add-on for network drivers .
  • Then check Control Panel - Network Adapters/Device Manager to make sure your network card is present.
