Ubuntu host cannot Ping Guest Windows 10

Ragnason

I have the following components:

  • Host: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS.
  • Guest: Windows 10 virtual machine.

In the "Virtual" box, I've selected " " Bridged Adapterfor this Windows VM , and I've also changed the VM's static IP so that it matches my host Ubuntu.

But I still can't ping to the Windows VM from my Ubuntu host. However, the Windows VM can ping the Ubuntu host and have a shared folder between them and it works.

What else can I do so that my host Ubuntu can ping my Windows VM? thanks

Ragnason

It turned out that there was a firewall on the guest machine. After deactivating it, I can ping my guest VM. everything works as expected
