How to enable middle mouse button in Ubuntu 16.04?
The issue is specific to the solution in the given version (16.04). Feel free to mark this as a duplicate, but it was created for the latest version user's solution. We can't simply google any solution for 16.04 and keep looking for it .
Ok, I try to model things in Blender on Ubuntu 16.04. As you might expect, it uses MMB quite frequently. One solution is to change MMB to something else, but Blender uses almost all keys to do almost anything, and you don't know when to use one of them.
Regarding this solution, one way is to change the MMB to a super key. However, I use it a lot. So, what I'm asking is, how to make MMB actually work in Ubuntu 16.04 .
I used to xev
clean everything up. The mouse wheel down/up action acts like a charm, but the MMB click doesn't respond.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite L450, detailed hardware information will be given below.

I don't know if this is still an issue with packages in the Ubuntu repositories. However, Blender in Steam accepts middle mouse button input just fine.
