reset snapshot configuration

Wand

Is there a way to reset the snapshot configuration back to what it was when it was first installed?

For example, I can do

snap remove --purge intellij-idea-educational

But then I need to install it again, including big downloads.

Downloaded snapshots are stored in /var/lib/snapd/cache/.

Deleting a snapshot will not delete files in this folder, even if you use the - option --purge.

Unless you manually deleted the corresponding files or a new version of snap is available, you can install snap again without downloading it again.
